Mithai, Step-By-Step Recipe

Ingredients and Measurements:

3 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1.5 tsp. ground anise seed

2 tsp. ground elychee/cardamom

1.5 tsp. ground nutmeg

6 tbsp. custard powder

1 small package (1/2 cup) coconut milk powder

1 stick unsalted butter

1 cup evaporated milk (may need more or less)

2 tsp. almond essence

2 tsp. vanilla essence oil to fry

For the paag:

1 cup brown demerara sugar

1/2 water ** you can add spices if you want
